Ex.

1.      The police went after the burglars, but did not catch them.

2.      Jill left the room in tears and Mike went after her to apologize.

就是追趕或跟隨某人的意思喔!

Ray老爸跟Ray老婆說每個人在這世界上都被騷擾過，

他說everybody got molested，今天就來學學molest這單字

Molest:

*to attack or harm someone, especially a child, by touching them in a sexual way or by trying to have sex with them.

*to attack and physically harm someone.

Ex.

1. men who molest young boys

2. a dog that was molesting sheep

騷擾，干擾，妨礙等意思，亦有性方面的侵害之意，

為及物動詞，後面可以直接接受詞

例如 it molests me.  它騷擾著我~

Ex.

Condone: to accept or forgive behaviour that most people think is morally wrong

Ex. I cannot condone the use of violence under any circumstances.

昨日發生了某藝人吸毒事件(taking/using drugs)，真的是bad influence,

Many people can’t condone it…

PS condone後必須接事件，非人物喔!!

Ray老爸做了很多壞的示範(壞榜樣)，

所以他說Maybe I am a bad influence,

Influence(n. vt.): the power to affect the way someone or something develops, behaves, or thinks without using direct force or orders

Ex. There is no doubt that Bohr's influence was immense(巨大的)

影響力可作動詞使用 I don’t want to influence you..我不想影響你.

今日片語[cut off] to disconnect (a telephone service)

Ex.

1.      The engineer accidentally cut off or phone when repairing the line.

2.      Bad weather had cut our phones off.

3.      The cottage had a telephone connection, but the thieves cut it off.

Cut off可以用在電話上，現在流行的LINE與SKYPE被切斷也是可以用的喔!

Clueless: having no understanding or knowledge of something - used to show disapproval.
