Germ: /ˈʤɚm/

biology : a very small living thing that causes disease

就是會造成一些疾病的微生物或細菌

上面那句就是說[一個失落的靈魂殺人速度遠比細菌更快]

所以大家要樂觀面對困境，態度與想法才是最重要的。

例

1.      As usual George was holding forth about how clever his children are.

2.      Peggy started to hold forth once again about her views on the educational system and we all left the room.

3.      The guy is holding forth at the annual convention.

滔滔不絕的說著……  或是  高談闊論講著…

She was trying to stop from spreading

來認識spread這字

Spread /ˈsprɛd/: it becomes larger or moves so that it affects more people or a larger area. (病毒，疾病或是火勢等等的擴散)

Ex.

1.     Fire quickly spread through the building. 火勢快速延燒整棟大樓。

2.      The cancer had spread to her liver.

用在名聲，消息或訊息等的擴散/散播

to become known about or used by more and more people:

Ex.

1.      News of the explosion spread swiftly.

2.      Andy loves spreading rumours about his colleagues.

輪流(排班)該怎麼說呢?

例:

3.      There were crumbs all over the floor and the children were asked to sweep them up.

例:

1.      I’m just going to wrap up this wedding present.

3.      This is a valuable vase – I’ll have to wrap it up carefully.

包裹，包裝起來..

wrap另外也有”總結””結束”的意思~

1.      Let’s wrap up this meeting.. (我們來總結這個會議)

2.      It’s a wrap. 殺青

3.      The drama will wrap next week.這劇下週要殺青了。

本週繼續『Ray Donovan(清道夫)』第一季第12集(Episode 12 Season 1)part7，

這次還是Ray老爸的對話，他在電話中說到The scales are falling from my eyes,

這是什麼意思呢?

Scale:當名詞有數種意思，刻度、比率、天秤、魚鱗與障礙物等等

這句話是個俚語，來自聖經(9:18)(new international version)

Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized.

可以說是指眼睛上的魚鱗(障礙物?)掉落了，所以”恍然大悟”

也就是說知道之前不知道的事情~
