1.      The old man had to shut down his business when he became ill.

2.      The firm has decided to shut all their county branches down.

3.      Lan was very upset when he realized that he would have to shut down his shop because it was not making any money.

今天小編要介紹的片語是【fall back on】to use (something) or seek help from (someone) that you know that you can rely on when everything else has failed.

Ex.

1.      We have an open fire which we can fall back on if the central heating system fails.

2.     Sheila does some temporary work for us- we can always fall back on her

3.     I am glad that I know how to type because it is something that I can always fall back on if I cannot find other work.

這裡的意思是求助於….尤其是求助無門的時候，非常的需要他人幫助

她因為更年期到了很怕熱，問了是否有開冷氣，
她說Can you turn the AC on?
這裡AC 就是  air conditioning (air conditioner)
要開強就是turn up..
另外個字就是更年期
這字比較少用，但還是可以學一下
Menopause是由meno + pause 而來
Meno指的就是女生的月事，pause這應該常看到，在播放機氣都可以看到此字
就是暫停囉!!

平時生活中，我們會去申請一些東西或會員，就是可以用這詞喔!

I have put in for a job, I think they will notify me soon.

今天就是介紹這個單字

Flyer: a small sheet of paper advertising something

Ex. People were giving out flyers advertising the event.

這裡不是當飛行物喔!!

所以以後在路上看到人家在發傳單，就可以說they are giving away the flyers.

Act本身是行動，動作或扮演的意思
