本週片語[hold forth]:to talk ( about something) for a long time, often in a boring and a pompous way.

 *pompous /ˈpɑːmpəs/:浮誇的，愛炫耀的

例

1.      As usual George was holding forth about how clever his children are.

2.      Peggy started to hold forth once again about her views on the educational system and we all left the room.

3.      The guy is holding forth at the annual convention.

滔滔不絕的說著……  或是  高談闊論講著…
