今天介紹『Ray Donovan(清道夫)』第一季第10集(Episode10  Season 1)part5，

Donovan全家去看了拳擊比賽，Ray的太太因為對台上吹了口哨，因此女兒就回了媽媽說: That’s degrading to women, don’t be facetious.

來學兩個單字

Degrade: a degrading experience, event etc. is unpleasant and makes you lose respect for yourself.

Ex. Pornography is degrading to women and to the men that look at it.

降級，貶低負面的意思，形容詞為degrading

Facetious: saying things that are intended to be clever and funny but are really silly and annoying

Ex. facetious comments

幽默，可笑的，滑稽的，也是負面意思. 注意他的發音為/fəˈsi:ʃəs/
